Upper Cast FINALE:

FRI/SAT evening cast will rehearse their finale on Sat 17th June. The choreography is here for them to practice at home. Some classes have more in in their sessions to learn this based on how far forward they are with their group dances. Some classes will get virtually no practice so please use time at home.

Finale costume is: BEAUTY & BEAT T-shirt PLUS red, yellow or royal blue shorts

Upper Cast RUNNING ORDER:

THE UPPER CAST is the most complex show logistically backstage due to the high number of dancers who take multiple classes and these dancers are scattered between a few changing areas. It is VITAL that all performers come armed with their OWN running order with their routines highlighted and costume notes on to help the runners keep tracks. Please download and print this running order and highlight accordingly along with notes of quick changes and ones where dancers stay stage side to change.. Please also pack and label all costumes accordingly.

EXTRA REHEARSALS:

Many of the UPPER CAST are required at the following rehearsals. Those on fri 16th June replace their normal studio classes. All dancers know what pieces they are rehearsing so please consult with them to plan. Please be sharp, please check backstage colour group before coming to stage rehearsal. Please wear show t-shirts to stage rehearsal.

COSTUME LIST

BRANCH CAST LIST is now live.

Where 'converse' is listed, these are black with white toe, canvas trainers that look like converse- they 100% don't need to be branded. Can be low or hi-top but just have white toe.

All dancer's hair is expected to be immaculate- any style where the hair is back off the face and up is acceptable. Plaits, low pony, high pony, bun...

Make up is natural with a pink lip unless specified differently for specific older groups.

COSTUME LISTS

KELSO UPPER CAST

You can now download your costume list. See two columns- one column is what you should provide for your dancer and the second column is what we are providing to add to the costume.

Please also note that all girls from around P6+ should have a nude sports/ dance bra if they do acro or lyrical. If they only take other styles their sports bra can be black. Nude pants are also a good investment.

OVERALL NOTE:
Where 'Converse Shoes' is listed, these should be black with white toe. Unbranded is encouraged. Low top or hi top both fine.

YOUR COSTUME LIST IS HERE

Please scan the list here if you're unsure what class your dancer is classified as

COSTUME LISTS

Your MINI cast costume list is live. Please note that mini cast dancers sit out the front and watch the entire show so we do try to encourage layering to avoid tricky changes.

If you have a child in more than one class they will have a senior helper assigned to them to help with changes.

COLOUR CODING: this sounds insane but it's a very important aspect of the mini show. Each class is assigned a colour. Your should have this coloured ribbon in your dancers hair (wrist for boys). If they are in multiple classes you should have all their colours visible. This is so that our runners know who should be on stage when and no one misses their slot.

INFO ON ALL PERFORMANCES

Below you can find out what show your dancer will take part in this summer. Please make sure you stay up to date with the relevant info for the cast that they are in. None of our summer shows are ever the same and 2023 will be no exception. Even if you have never taken part in an M-Pulsive Production before you need not fear, every dot of information will be provided with nothing assumed as 'aye been'.

This year we are pushing to provide our audience and dancers with a more professional show and would like to set these new guidelines in place now to be fully transparent.

SHOW NIGHT FILMING

FILMOGRAPHY AND PHOTOGRAPHY will be prohibited whilst the show is running. I understand that your children aren't professional actors and that we want memories to take away from show night but it is distracting for the performers and other audience members looking past many phone so with this in mind we are offering the following...

- a professional USB/ DVD of the performance (all dancers will be visible in the finished product)

- photo opportunities pre and post show at our dedicated snap points

- pre show photos and meet and greet with your lead cast

- an invite to film and photograph the finale

We feel that this will give everyone in the audience a much more enjoyable experience and allow us to live in the moment and take in the joy of the production in it's fullness and truly appreciate what your dancer is a part of.

Please note that although we ask audience members not to photograph or film, all show participants must be open to being photographed as part of this production as we will be taking footage as a school and your professional companies attending will be filming full groups.

REHEARSALS

All choreography rehearsals are during your dancers usual class. Please take note that we will run through all bank holidays in the summer term and dancers should prioritise attendance in class to ensure they are fully prepared.

Our UPPER cast will be required for a stage run at the Tait Hall on Sat 17th June 12-2pm

Classes involved in Be Our Guest Section (these will be told next term) may be required for an extra Friday afternoon rehearsal in June TBC
